VINTAGE SEWING/DARNING TOOL
Size: @ 6 inches tip to tip
Material: Unknown...possibly Ivory
*****************************
I inherited my great aunt's sewing box; she is 96. I frankly do not know what this is. My guess is she used it to push out the bits of socks or gloves that she mended. She was quite the seamstress and her box contained many unusual items.
This item swivels and the inside of the piece has irregular cross hatch marks which *may* indicate that it is ivory. The swivel parts that one uses to push out the bits also have some irregular cross hatching, but again...I have no clue what the material is in this item and the pricing is started very low. Also note: the camera flash is making this item appear lighter in color than it is.
I have also thought that one could use this item with a pipe or cigar???? Truly no clue. If you know, please let me know and I will amend the listing. Thank you.
