This is a Traditional Irish song that I have arranged, performed and sung for you all....hope that you enjoy it. About the Song: This song, which is known by two names, either The Little Skillet Pot or Colcannon, is a song about the pleasant memories of Childhood...and of course Comfort food...and knowing the Irish, this means the Potato! Terms: Colcannon- an Irish dish that is basically Mashed Potatoes with Cabbage, Ham, Scallions (green onions), and Cream...a full meal! Boxty- a type of Potato pancake that is often filled with savories, like meat and veggies...often folded into the shape of a square...or a box, hence the name! Skillet Pot- Up until recent times (probably as late as the 40s or 50s) poor families would make thier meals in one big cast iron pot that hung over an open fire, this is what was known as a Skillet...a lot different than what we know of today! please, rate and comment, but please keep it to constructive criticism... nobody likes rude posts that have nothing to do with the subject of the video! Thanks!
