After months of work, we revealed the secret room under the stairs to Malcolm and Archie on Christmas morning. Malcolm was completely surprised! This area started out as a crude void under the stairs, complete with solid wall. It now has two CREE LR4 LED recessed lights (for cool safety), a smoke detector, outlets, and an antique vent to the foyer (behind a dresser) for air flow. Access is gained through a wardrobe I designed and Tom built. It looks like an antique piece of furniture, but when opened, reveals the play room. We still need to add a few more shelves and the fourth magnetic board. Phew. That was a LOT of work!!
